Psychotherapy and Counselling

Welcome to Unusual Times
Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, or major life changes. Recently diagnosed with or working towards an diagnosis but find it hard to cope with being neurodiversity.

There comes a time when sometimes we need some help from a Psychotherapist or Counsellor, someone who can help you cope with many of life’s challenges. My approach is well suited to working with people to help change these problems and stop repeating unhelpful patterns in life. I also work with people who are simply dissatisfied or uneasy with their lives and want things to be different.
Since starting my practice, I have provided clients with a wide range of psychotherapy and counselling services. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to work alongside you through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and better cope with change.

Experience Change with Unusual Times
My name is Deborah Hepburn and I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor of 9 years, working in the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire area based in Cirencester.
I have a diploma in Advanced Transactional Analysis psychotherapy (Masters level 7) . I work within the ethical codes of the BACP.
My approach is based on Transactional Analysis (TA), but I also use other forms of therapeutic techniques tailoring to a clients individual needs. TA provides ways of looking at people's history, and the unhelpful patterns they tend to repeat in their lives, and the ways they relate to others. It is suited both to short-term goal-focussed counselling, and longer-term more exploratory psychotherapy. People who contact me are experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, or other life struggles that have an adverse impact on their day to day lives. The approach I use begins with looking at past history, current relationships and patterns of behaviour that may have become fixed or stuck, and then working towards finding ways to understand and change, (if required), these patterns of behaviour to help you in day to day life.

Over the past 2 years I have been working with people who have been diagnosed or working towards a diagnosis of ADHD/Autism, with the aim of helping people and their families, to adjust, understand, and explore their differences, and to work with them to get the best out of life.
My therapy sessions are designed to provide patients with effective tools to help them see life from a more positive perspective.
I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental, empathic and confidential environment, in which people can talk about whatever they want, explore their experiences, discuss their problems and difficulties, decide what they want to change, and consider how to cope with what they can't change.
At all times we will work at your pace, with compassion and confidentiality at the core of what we do.
My promise and commitment to you is that through your journey with me, I will be with you for as long as you need me, and as long as it takes.
